World Wide Alumni Day (WWAD) 2025 RECAP

EGYPT

Cairo marked its first Worldwide Alumni Day in 2025, bringing together alumni and current BCGers for an evening of conversation and networking. As a first edition, the focus was simple: open the door and bring the community into the same space. It set the tone for what can become a regular moment in the office calendar.

In Nairobi, the focus was on exchange across generations. Alumni and current BCGers shared the same space, creating conversations that bridged different stages of the journey. It felt less like a formal event and more like a continuation of the same community, just at different points in time.

MOROCCO

In Casablanca, the evening centered around an alumni talk followed by open networking. The format was simple, but the conversations carried it. Alumni shared where their paths have taken them since BCG, catching up across cohorts and experiences. It was a reminder that the strength of the network often comes from the people in the room, not the structure around it.

NIGERIA

Lagos built its evening around a keynote and fireside chat on Africa’s geopolitical future. The discussion set the tone, with conversations extending well beyond the formal session. It was an evening grounded in ideas, reflecting a community that continues to engage with the region’s biggest questions.

SOUTH AFRICA

Cape Town and Johannesburg took a different route, bringing alumni together on the padel court. The setting shifted the dynamic, making the evening more informal and easygoing. Conversations happened between games, with the focus less on structure and more on simply spending time together.

Ntissar Hardaf

From BCG to scaling investment across Africa

Stéphane started his career at BCG in Paris before moving into finance at Goldman Sachs. He later returned to BCG as a founding member of the Casablanca office, playing a key role in building the firm’s presence across Africa. He went on to lead investment activities on the continent and now serves as Managing Partner at SPE Capital, where he continues to invest in and scale businesses. He traces his approach to leadership and long-term value creation back to BCG.

Melvyn’s career has been defined by breaking new ground. He began at BCG Johannesburg, where he learned to navigate ambiguity and think big while staying rooted in impact. After leaving consulting, he built and scaled ventures, and today he is Partner at Breega while also leading South Africa’s new Digital Services Unit. Looking back, he credits BCG with shaping not only how he solves problems, but also how he leads with purpose and builds relationships that last.
